Every day, thousands of people in the Bay Area battle serious, life-threatening illnesses. And every day, Project Open Hand is there for them.  Project Open Hand believes that no one who is sick or elderly should go without nutritious meals with love.  We prepare 2,500 nutritious meals and provide 400 bags of healthy groceries on a daily basis to help sustain our clients as they battle serious illnesses, isolation, or the health challenges of old age. For more information on Project Open Hand, click here.

There are many ways participants in The Giant Race can support Project Open Hand’s mission:

  • Register for The Giant Race with Fundraise to Run. Participants commit to raising $500 on behalf of Project Open Hand, earn fun prizes - including a baseball ticket to Runners Night - and race for free!
  • Set a fundraising goal, and get your friends, family, neighbors, colleagues and local businesses to support the cause by donating to your personal fundraising page. You’ll be eligible for fun prizes and incentives along the way!
  • Create or join a fundraising team, and revel in the glory of supporting Project Open Hand with your teammates. In addition to all the individual fundraiser goodies, teams stand to win monthly prizes and an exclusive on-the-field experience at AT&T Park!
  • Volunteer on race weekend! It takes over a thousand dedicated volunteers to make The Giant Race happen.
  • Donate directly to Project Open Hand.

Now is the time to start your fundraising! If every Giant Racer raises only $20, Project Open Hand will meet its 2014 goal of $400,000. Project Open Hand and Matt Cain invite you to join in the important work of providing over 2,500 meals with love each and every day to the sick and elderly in our community.
