Gracefully and orderly exchange a bobblehead for a Sharpie mark on runners bib. Then watch them clutch that thing like it was their firstborn. This is a customer-oriented position requiring a positive and friendly attitude.
You know that guy at the Olympics who hangs medals around the necks of the champs? Be that guy (or gal). Everyone's a champ at The Giant Race, so all runners will get a medal.
For those that want a bit of a workout (must be able to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for long periods of time), come by on Saturday and help us prep for the finish line.
Must want to be on the field at AT&T Park with the crew once the race is over. But you also must want to work (required ability to lift up to 30 pounds and be on your feet for long periods of time).
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Ensure runners have water in their hands once they finish. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
Welcome our fundraisers to the Fundraise to Run VIP Lounge, assist with sweat check, help to feed runners and make sure everyone has what they need and is ready to run!
You think you know it all? You do. Runners and spectators may have lots of burning questions on race day. You will be the one they come to for answers.
Welcome all runners to the Expo/Race, and answer questions about the race, the venue, and the lovely city of San Francisco
This one's for all of you tech-savvy folks who like to push buttons on the computer. Assign a bib and timing tag to each runner, and then send 'em off to get their shirt. Requires computer AND social skills. Novel concept.
Collect last minute donations to Project Open Hand, and distribute fundraising prizes to runners. Probably the most feel-good job of all.
Work with our Start Director to assist in directing runners to the start. And shift #1 is so darn early, you'll get to see the gorgeous AT&T Park sunrise. Seriously though, help to ensure runners are moving smoothly from the parking lot into the start area, and answer some directional questions along the way (like, where's the bathroom?). It's an important job (gotta get off on the right foot, after all). Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
It's not quite high fashion, but the shirts are pretty darn sweet. All you have to do is trade the right size race shirt (and a smile) for a mark on the runner's bib.
Assist Project Open Hand team with checking in volunteers. You’ll learn the ins and outs of AT&T park by escorting volunteers to shift locations. We’ll thank each volunteer PROFUSELY for their help and pass out complimentary baseball tickets following their shift. This fun and exciting role requires high energy and is fast paced during check-in and check-out times!
